🍡🥢🥠 (Guangzhou Dim Sum Delights) Sesame Seed Balls
Indulge in the crispy and chewy sensation of this traditional Guangzhou dessert. The sweet red bean filling will leave you craving for more after just one bite!
🥣 Ingredients:
– 100g white sesame seeds
– 200g glutinous rice flour
– 80g caster sugar
– 150ml water, warm
– 200g red bean paste
– Vegetable oil for deep frying
🧑🍳 Preparation:
1. Toast sesame seeds until golden and let them cool.
2. Mix glutinous rice flour and sugar. Gradually add warm water to form a dough.
3. Divide dough into 16 equal pieces and flatten into discs.
4. Place a spoonful of red bean paste in the center of each disc and wrap the dough to form a ball.
5. Roll the balls in toasted sesame seeds, pressing gently to adhere.
6. Heat oil to 175°C and deep fry balls until golden brown.
7. Serve on a plate, sprinkle extra seeds, and present with a side of Chinese tea as per photo.
