Dive into Osaka’s Takoyaki and Beyond with our Osaka-style Okonomiyaki
Savor the unique flavors of Japan with this Osaka-style Okonomiyaki, a versatile and delicious pancake ready to impress.
Ingredients:
– 2 cups all-purpose flour
– 1.5 cups water
– 4 eggs
– 1/2 head cabbage, finely chopped
– 1/2 cup green onions, chopped
– 8 slices of bacon
– 1/2 cup tempura bits (tenkasu)
– 1/2 cup pickled ginger, chopped
– Oil for frying
– Bonito flakes, mayo, and okonomiyaki sauce for topping
Preparation:
1. Whisk flour and water in a bowl until smooth.
2. Stir in eggs, cabbage, green onions, tempura bits, and ginger.
3. Heat oil in a pan, pour in batter to form four pancakes.
4. Lay 2 bacon slices on each pancake; cook until golden brown.
5. Flip carefully and cook until bacon is crispy.
6. Serve hot, topped with dancing bonito flakes, artistic drizzles of mayo, and okonomiyaki sauce.
