🍵🌿🍅 (Kyoto’s Matcha Magic) Matcha Tofu Caprese Salad
A delightful blend of Italian Caprese salad with a Japanese twist, drizzled with matcha infused balsamic reduction to celebrate the fusion of Kyoto’s matcha.
🥣 Ingredients:
– 300g firm tofu
– 2 large tomatoes
– 200g fresh mozzarella
– 1 tbsp matcha powder
– 50ml balsamic vinegar
– Basil leaves, to garnish
– Salt and pepper, to taste
– Olive oil, for drizzling
🧑🍳 Preparation:
1. Press tofu to release excess water; slice into 1cm thick slabs.
2. Slice tomatoes and mozzarella to similar thickness.
3. Alternate layers of tofu, tomato, and mozzarella on a plate.
4. Mix matcha powder with balsamic vinegar; reduce until thickened.
5. Drizzle the matcha balsamic glaze over the salad.
6. Garnish with fresh basil, season with salt and pepper, and finish with a drizzle of olive oil.
7. Serve on a dark plate to bring out the vibrant green matcha hues.
